Giorgos Papamitrou was born in Athens in 1979. He studied guitar with Tasos Papadakis (degree, 2003) and from 1999 up to 2006 he took classes in harmony, counterpoint, fuga, and studied composition with Nikos Drelas (composition diploma, 2010). He attended circles of classes in “Music for Cinema and Theatre” with William Antoniou, “Contemporary piano” with Lorenda Ramou, “Music for media” with Alexandros Mouzas and has participated in “MaxMsp seminars” with Tim Ward and in “Musical and Technical Principles of Custom Electronic Instruments seminars” with John Richards.
He is working as a guitar teacher at the music school SEISTRON in Athens and in private lessons, and as a computer teacher at schools. His works have played in concerts, festivals and competitions finals
(Europe, USA). He has been awarded in 2011 Simeonis International Composer’s Competition
(choir).
